What is a good Instagram follower-to-following ratio?
The follower/following ratio is followers divided by following. A ratio above 1 means an account has more followers than it follows; large public figures often sit far above 10, while most personal accounts sit near or below 1. There is no single 'correct' number — it simply describes how the account balances following others versus being followed.
Can I audit a private Instagram account?
Yes — follower and following counts and verified status are public metadata even on private accounts, so the audit card still works. Detailed lists (who they follow or who follows them) are only available for public accounts.
Where does the audit data come from?
The numbers are pulled live from Lurk's Instagram profile service at the moment you run the audit, so they reflect the account's current public counts rather than a stale cache.
Can I share the audit result?
Yes. Every audit has a Share button that copies a link back to the same audit (for example /tools/instagram-audit?u=nike). Whoever opens the link sees the same live audit card re-run for that username.
